The fact is that he sold his son for the fucking Zenin family - one of, if not the worst family that you could be born into - and than forgot that he existed. That man is hot. Very much so. Because the fog is stronger in the midnight channel, and because Nanako is only 6 years old, it was probably especially hard on her, which is likely what caused her death. That being said, I have no idea how Teddie ends up bringing her back.
